I'm actually switching over to Team Checkpoint power, I've been running their motors for about a month now and they have the best powerband of anything I've tried. I also ran their batteries at the KO race and they fit with no issues, and had good power as well.
I'll be at the track on Sat if you'd like to see how the WE and X battery placement differs.

I ran my 416WE on medium bite asphalt in cold temperatures last night with the same tires and exact same setup I ran at the Snowbirds warmup race on high bite carpet. The car was surprisingly good. I can't say as though I wouldn't make changes, but I was pleasantly surprised at how big the setup window is on the 416.

Interesting.... I wonder if they have new spring rates or just painted the old spring set.

Just a note for anyone using the HPI springs. You'll probably want to use the wider HPI spring retainers as well. They come on a parts tree that include shock ends which you'll need to use to get them to fit. The good news is, for whatever reason, those shock ends fit the Tamiya ballstuds perfectly and the shock builds to 61.5mm with no problems.
