Default What car and engine to run

Hi guys

i need a little help on deciding what car and engine combo to go with, i've been out of racing 10th nitro for 4 years and just need abit of advice. My LHS supports Serpent HPI XRAY and Team Magic, they recommended a combo of NT1 and Orion CRF engine. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Steve

You might find some of the info at my Web site helpful in making a decision about what car to buy. See the links in my signature.

If other people at your track are running a CRF, then that would be a pretty good choice. It doesn't quite run like the other engines, so the ability to get some help at the track is a good thing. There are some good notes on running the CRF here and in the CRF engine thread. The most important thing to remember about tuning the CRF, is that it returns to idle right away after it has warmed up and you stop and blip the throttle.

There are some other really good engines to choose from. What's poplular at the track? What's your budget?

Also.. What area of the country are you going to be racing? Any well-known tracks?

if I was in the market to buy a onroad car right now I would go the team magic g4s+ with the picco red dot JL .12 with skyline pipe.
that should do the trick!
have fun!
