reserved 22 is fine

if it shuts down, either add a heatsink or switch to reserved 23 = tempcut off

Thanks for the feedback.
Actually I havent any thermal issues, temp after runs just raised near 90º but air temp was hot also.
Switch to a reserved value with thermal cut de-activated arent we playing with fire?or thermal kicks early but genius can handle more temp?(in this case its under-rated

Im thinking on installing a fan aswell, just for hot summer races, but I have cap board over genius. Will a fan will do its job if installed vertical between servo and esc (see pic).

I have a 25mm MM fan, seems bit small, which diameter fans are you using?

i use a 25mm fan attached to the heatsink

the hottest i have ever seen a genius 95 to be was at 140°C

at that temp the processor switches of but it should never reach that temperature

Just to add that I have removed the cap board and use a Novak cap from a GTB which works fineand means that you can easily mount heatsink and a fan

@Martin Hofer

The Genius 120 looks like a whole new esc, can you tell more about it?

Mark34,

Have you ever raced at stafford and if so what sort of gearing would you run with the 6T delta on 5 cells?

nah i have never raced there

but if you can get me the length of the straightaway i can give you an advice (google earth can measure ;-) )

I'd start with an fdr around 7,0 and test from there

Default Re gearing

Hi
I have raced at stafford but not for a while however the straight is not really that long and its quite technical in places 7.00 seems ok but only if you can keep the car rolling if not try around 7.3 to give you a bit of get up and go out of the corners

I've had a look on google maps/earth and the straight is about 48 meters. One other question. How differently would you gear the 6T delta GM motor to the other 3 or 3.5 y-wind motors on the market. I'm currently using a peak racing 3T motor and the gearing I'm using is much lower than any gearings you've suggested on this forum. I think I normaly gear it at about 9.00 depending on the track. But the GM 6T just arrived in the post the other day so i'll be giving that a try this weekend.

I have once teted a 3T y-wound and it did not make runtime well and was not that much faster it should have been when looking at that much more mah used ^^

I usually gear a 3,5T 0,3 longer that an 6T with the same magnet
