Gm 7 turn delta
Hello, I have a gen 2 genius 120 with GM 4000 life cells and gm 7 turn delta motor, which amp limit and timing I should use to have the best out this motor? Also use a 17,5 graupner sport 6568 on 2wd offroad with lipo, which gear and timing is possible to use without overheating the motor? another question about the transmitter setting: my radio have standard 70% throttle and brake travel, it give me this 1,86 1,48 1,16 setting. using 100% travel it give 2,005 1,46 1,009 setting. which stick travel I should use to setting the esc?
thanks for the help

180 / 10 for the 7T
80 / 24 for the 17.5 (123°C)
are you sure there is nothing upping your values when you set the travel to 100? as that values sound like A LOT of travel. you'd better check that

hi martin do you know when the gm 75 will be released?

7 delta
Ok Martin, I have read and stored the how to, very useful thanks. but was think the delta motor should setting different, as on the motor is printed to use 30° timing and that is a lot...also using different voltage than lipo should use different timing right? isnt voltage related the amount of timing you can use?
about the radio stick travel setting, my radio a ko ex 5UR have 70% travel as factory setting and 100% is the max you can set, so 100% is like using 150% on a radio with 100% standard setting, that the reason it show so much travel on the esc. I suppose to set the esc with 70% is the right choice then as the value are closed to what suggested.
best regards

I think you r messing up something with the info printed on the motor. The motor is meant to be used with 30 degree sendorlesd timing and that the speedo does automatically anyway
30 degree of Timing is really never used cause tbh when I tried it it got hot within 2 minutes! And that was already with proper cooling.
As for 97163 (or gen 75) it will he available by the time the shop says. I think some early backorders have been delivered already but it was only a small batch.
All I can say is that this speedo is really worth the wait when you are a prostock racer as it looks ridiculously good in any car and is just perfect for stock applications. I will try to find a pic of that speedo installed in my ar as the homepagepics don't do the speedo justice
But that's it for now as I'm typing this with my iPhone

Ok thats good on the delivery. I have seen Chris kerswells and was very impressed with his. Looks awesome, not that much bigger than some brushed speedos

Martin,
thanks for taking the time to write such a complete explanation of how to use V13. it will bring a big benefit to many people using the gm better now.
I had a look through your V13 basic and have a question.
you didn't use variable dependent additional timing.
can you explain your thoughts behind this?
thanks

Hi Martin
A bit off topic but why do you still use 40Mhz? I've notice a lot of pro drivers still with it; you must feel it gives you some advantage!

Martin - was going to suggest you checking your own blog for a pic of a 75
Andy - I think that will have been an old ish photo, cos I think Martin was using 2.4 at the Euros, but i'm sure he'll put you right on it! I think it may depend on what radio manufacture people are using as to weather they use Crystals or 2.4.

without variable depence timing you get a more linear throttle feeling, with variable depence timing you get a more exponential throttle feeling
I used to use FM as crystals is better than any 2.4 system that uses a MODULE! as you always have the response time of the analog transmitter PLUS the response time of the 2.4 system (even though manufacturers claim that their modules are superfast) and as long as you use a 2.4 with a module it's definately worse
a full digital transmitter (like 4pk or sanwa m11x) on the other hand gives you the same feeling as crystals as fully digital is about as fast or maybe even a bit faster than a full analog crystal transmitter!
This is why i used to use crystals and many pro drivers still do. Especially KO Drivers tend to use crystals due to the above mentioned fact.
With Sanwa having released the M11X and futaba having the 4pk drivers using those brands went for 2.4
hope that clears some question marks now
and yeah it is an old picture. I went to 2.4 for the worlds!

Hey guys,
I know my GM 90 can go down to 5.5 turns star wind. But what does this correspond to in delta wind? 8/9t? Cheers

a delta wind is considered about equal to 1.73*star winds
so 5.5T would be 9.5delta rounded up would be 10T
