Default battery ends : how does it fit!

silly question.. and i know i read it somewhere... but its been bugging me.

ok, so best wiring on a battery is to put an L shaped battery bar, and hard wire. we all know that...

but what about the trinity r-minus (or much more) plugs?

if i put them (even at an angle) on the l shaped battery bar, it works, but i want it to be neater.

i can put the r-minus plug on the battery end, here is an example:

i plan on changing my esc battery plugs and putting the this way:

but then, how will the battery pack fit in lets say a novak discharger, integy/dpd, tekin, or spintec? will it fit??
i guess if im "gentle" it'll squeeeze in like this pic?

just wondering .. eh?

just trying to clean up my wiring......

and no.. (yes these are 1400 batts) im not doing anything drastic like this:

[i guess if im "careful" enough it "can" fit in an integy 030,

just now wonder if it'll fit (4 cell) with the ends like that on a novak smart tray.... ?

I reckon the L-shaped bent battery bar at the end with the tube on top is still very neat. The fact that you've done away with wires is really the key to the neatness.

And as you've said, it means no worries in any battery tray, and if you changed cars to one with a dedicated battery tray (eg for me in off-road, a Losi 2WD), then clearance is not an issue.

That's what I do, and reckon it's very neat/clean.

its just its one extra thing.. a battery bar with a L (think of a wider L.. ) at a 45 degree angle with a bar and the tube on top of the..

yeah it clears my t4 better that way, but im no longer doing "battery tray" type cars since i went to "oval", so i think i can get away with the tube directly on the battery, but then comes the "fitment" issue ya know..

oh desicions..... thanks for your reply! =)

Hmmm, i haven't seen these plugs before
Would they be good for a high powered brushless touring application?

Yeah if I didn't have to worry about the tray in the car, I'd be doing the same. Looks trick on the side. And I like the right angle male connectors.

Tucker, these are commonly known as Corally connectors, and from memory Trinity, Orion and LRP all have them in their lineup. In my opinion they are the best battery connectors you can buy for many reasons.

Go GET SOME!

also "much more" makes them too. the ONLY other thing I could do is... cut the deans connectors in half kind of like how John (Strath....ham..errr) does it on most of his cars.... and do it that way to get away from the whole "pigtail" look. but again, that will give me a small length of wire.

i guess i should just "hard wire", but for those "get up and go practice" moments or the "damn.. where is my off switch.... just pull out one side" moments.....

Here is how I do mine and reason for this was because the original JRXS had no real good other way to do it. Direct solder was a challange since the bars were so close to the drive belt.

I use them for my 12th scale with the tubes right on the battery ends and it fits in my smart tray just fine after I bent the smart tray tabs back slightly.

For 6-cell packs, the Novak Smart Tray has adjustments to lower the two outer tabs to accomodate the extra connector. You can see them circled in the attached pic.

I bend them to fit into my Tekin battery Dr, works fine. I actually put 2 4 cell packs at a time in there.
