Default High end 1/8 scale onroad engines

So I am going to be in the market for a new engine for my MRX4-R soon. Right now I run a Novarossi rx21r1wc "Kangaroo" engine. Its been a great engine but now I want to go all out. My budget will be around 700. My question is if you had 700 to toss at an engine what would you buy. I was thinking perhaps a Murnan modded 35 Plus 21 or maybe a JP FX 21 9port. Any opinions welcome and appreciated

From the kangaroo, a stock 35 Plus 21 should be an easy pick-up around $500 bucks, or possibly a Nova "Tuned" 35 Plus 21 for under $600.

359 kit is VERY good,
The 2nd engine is also good, you get a good deal. The second engine is not the fastest on the block but you can battle some club racing with it.
35 Plus is also a nice engine, also depend the track were you are running, but my choice if for NOVA, great engines. REMEBER clutch setting is 80% of the engine
Have fun

I will suggest a Nova 35 Plus 21 or the new 359. Both are very good engines.

The NS21P is a damn good engine with the 359 kit.

It's not made to be the top gun in your pit box. It's made for club events and smaller tracks... and even just getting comfortable during practice on a big track, thus saving wear and tear on your $500+ dollar 359. For the extra $200, I'll take the "dog" for my pit box and if I smoke the 359 at least I'm still in the game

i like the picco p9 cheep and fast and you can get two for the price with change but if you want to spend the money rb c6-rc is a very fast motor the one you have mention or got to muran web site theyare all fast the most powerful does happen to be a rb xenon it the most powerful not the best to race with just sheer power it put out the most on the dyno. that is what i have been told

The 359 kit comes with the newest on-road 359 engine from NovaRossi and a NS21P engine.... and from what I can tell from looking online, and have been told, is damn close to a Kangaroo engine. The kit also has the blue NovaRossi INS box included.

The NS21P does not have a balanced crank, nor is it filled wih epoxy on the ramp. It has a 3 needle carb though, which some people like- I could care less.

Like I said, for $700 you get NovaRossi's latest design and a "mule" engine as they call it, to save your high dollar engine for big races.... or you can pay $500+ for one engine.

You could get a few Picco's, but I don't really think anyone believes they stack up against a 35+21 or a 359.

i run a 35+21 and am very happy with it. i also have a ns21p (second engine in the 359 kit) which i use for club racing.
It is not the fastest engine out there but good enough for club racing and if it does blow up then it won't break the bank account to fix it.
i would pick either novarossi 35+21 or the 359.

The new kyosho/orion .21 onroad will be one to look out for in the future.

Depends on the track you are running on.....

The latest range of Picco engine (Mega ZX, IDM by ielasi, Solaroli) where the fastest engine on the last European A championship (which was won actually by Novarossi. )

Novarossi "knew" in general that the track layout suited the Picco's better.
On the upcoming worlds things might be the other way around offcourse...

I've seen Picco's win from Ninja's, Nova's, but also the other way around.....

But still, you can get 2 Mega DSII EDO modified engines for less than the PLUS 2 package.....
