OLDY BUT A GOODY NITRO BUGGY.....
I'm looking to get into nitro. I don't have a ton of $$$ to spend. Is there a older buggy that you have owned in the past that you think would hold it's own with the updated buggies that are running at the present. Basically I'm looking for and an oldy but a goody buggy........
LMK your thoughts.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the OFNA Hyper 7 TQ. Good buggy and plenty capable in the right hands. If you use the coupons from Tower Hobbies you can pick it up for right around $200.

There may be better options though depending on your budget. How much do you have to work with? Also, don't rule out buying a used buggy. Sometimes that can save you a lot of money.

I'm sure you could pick up a Mugen MBX5 or XRAY X-b8 FOR UNDER 200 RIGHT NOW. I'm positive that either car could whoop any new car in the right hands.
Stay away from a sportwerks mayhem, or turmoil. aswell as any duritrax buggy.

Not too sure if this qualifies or not....but i have about a 5 1/2 year old Ofna 9.5 buggy that was a RTR, but has since had some upgrades done to it..and I would reccommend this one as it is a oldy but goody that as far as I know still has parts for it available for it...Just a thought here is all...

I had great luck with the Mayhem Pro and Turmoils before also. Easy to work on, cheap parts on ebay, very durable. If you're getting back into racing it'll take a year before you are out driving the buggy and need to upgrade to a Losi 8.

I agree with what people are saying about getting a decent buggy used. I just got a nice jammin roller for 250, its pretty easy to get a decent one as long as you know what you are looking for...check the sale forums, look for people with good feedback

hyper7 pro cheap and very reliable. Mine was like a tank. The parts on that car are extremely durable. People were changing plastic parts like the arms just cause they were scratched up.
I drive a Jammin now
