Sigear, you make a good point. I've never really believed traction compound did anything, but fully saucing magenta or dp fronts may have caused some of my problems. Unfortunately I just threw a vastly different setup my cars, so I can't test that theory properly.

Always, I repeat ALWAYS motor spray the tires off after run, even practice ones and 'green' layouts. That's the only way to obtain accurate info from your set-ups & saucing methods....

You know, nobody have ever bothered to explain, or tell me that. Won't the motor spray dry out the foam, or weaken the glue?

Maybe this is why everyone that's drives my car always tells me I have too much steering, no matter the setup. I usually rotate since I use the same tires all around. Guess I need to start swapping Left to Right only, not Front to Rear and Left to Right.

Yes, Motor spray makes the foam wierd and loosens the glue bondage. Use lighter fluid, costs less and lasts longer.

What if you sprayed the Motor Spray on a rag and just wiped off the tires with the rag, greatly minimizing the amount of Motor Spray that would actually contact the foam? Would the same result happen?

I prefer soap and water. Lather ...rinse...repeat. Don't use any soap with moisturizers. I used to use Dial. It's a little more work, but the tires feel like new when you are done. They dry in no time with a small fan on them.

I've run 12th scale for awhile and now 1/10th foam and have ALWAYS used this method. Never have I had a 'weird' acting foam or have seen it loosen the glue bond. Where do you get this stuff?!

Well I've just about finished my first set of Prisms, and I have to say they're the best foams I've ever run. For some reason, the things just seem to last forever. I ran my original set non-stop (practice and race) for about 5 weekends(including A LOT of running at a big race in Omaha) and they are just now getting to the point where I think I need to replace them.

I've gotten the best results running Magenta all around. This is what most of the Mi3 setups I've seen suggest, and thats what I got the best results with. Running Magenta all around let me rotate the tires constantly to keep the tires equal and avoid trips to the truer, so you gotta love that.

No problems with chunking at all. I had small chunks on the very edges as the tires got really small, after contact with boards/other cars etc..., but nothing that hindered performance.

Chris, yep. I spent a little time with a borrowed cordless Dremel and a sanding drum a few weeks ago on my 007 knuckles.
