I just installed my Novak 10.5 Pro in my DB12R prototype. I wanted to see what the biggest pinon that I could fit with an 88 spur. Well, I can see plenty of daylight between the 88T spur and a 44T pinion! Thats the biggest pinion I have. You will be able to hit any gear ratio you need with a BL motor in a DB12R

Default Brushless Gearing

I can't wait to get my hands on this car! Well, actually I can wait but it will be so much more fun when I don't have too.

For 5.5 setups is anyone noticing whether you can use standard gearing (24-25/100)? I'm noticing that a lot of posted gearing for brushless setups seem to utilize an 88t spur, what happens when you use a standard 100t spur and normal pinion? I'm just waiting and looking forward to the Tekin brushless.

the only class i run a 100 spur in is mod.the reason for this is to allow you to use the largest, most efficient pinion possible.once we get into the more common classes such as stock and 19,i go the other direction.i try to run as close to a reasonable size pinion as possible.i try to stay between 27 and 36.with brushless 10.5 and 13.5 you dont really have a choice.you need to run a large pinion so you really need to start with an 88 spur.some guys are hunting even smaller spurs to get the needed rollout.this is why i decided to include the 88 spur.it is going to be the most commonly used among the general public and our pod will allow unlimited gearing options.

You need to run some brushless oval. We've got pinions up to 60t. Think about 100/60 with 2.15 tires
