Vintage Trans Am
#16
My original idea had been to spec the Tamiya Silver Can motor...but they don't go in the Associated motor mounts. Guess who tried.
I'd sure like to find an old Corvette body. I remember that SOMEBODY (Parma?) had them back in the day but I can't find one listed. I think it was a mid-60's Corvette body on the RC10 Jay Halsey drove in The Dead Pool.
I'll have to take a look at the Cobra.

Here's our vintage class. 60 - 70 american muscle car.
We run eletric 190mm and nitro 200mm. 1/2 front airdamn and 1' spoiler on rear.
everything else is open rules for now.
Mine is the white 61 impala in the middle. I am running a 10.5 brushless with 3200 lipo's in a FK04 X-ray. Little tricky at first on set-up but now I have a handle on it.

The winter carpet spec class we run is Tamyia TT-01 base kit, couple bearings allowed on the drive shaft, 3300 max packs, 540 can, 19t pinion, any rubber tire, any insert, any rim, any tire additive, $50 max speedo, 1972 or older body. I ran the 69 Mustang last year. I would like to find an old Vette or Cobra for this year.
This is the most fun class I have ever competed in. All of the cars are within a few seconds of each other. Low cost, high fun, the way racing should be.

Remember, Bolink is back... The bodies might not be as detailed as the HPI but they are there... I'm going to pick up a few of the 68 Chevelles and paint them up to match mine... There's also a company in the UK that does a 70's Firebird and C3 Vette... They are on ebay all the time...

Peagusus Hobbies has a Cuda ("Big Fish"), a 1970 Camaro and the best looking 1970 Mustang. All are 200 mm.

Can you provide a pointer, especially to that 70 Camaro body? I just waded through all 90 pages of Pegasus' "Bodies and accessories" and didn't find anything "new". I DID see the HPI and Parma '70 'Cudas, the HPI 68 Camaro and the Parma '69 Camaro, the Parma '70 Mustang and the HPI '66 Mustangs.
Help!!

I have not been able to find a picture on the web of Pegasus' muscle car bodies. I have seen them in person in my LHS. I have the Mustang body; I will take a picture of it this weekend and post it. I am thinking I will order the Camaro.
If you really want something different search EBay for lexan ferrari or lexan porsche. They are not Trans Am cars, well the Jaguar maybe. I doubt the wire wheels will tolerate board hits but they look impressive.
