Allright, I know this has probably been beaten to death already but I can't find a thread on it.

What is a great steering servo for touring cars based on price and durability. I ain't got much money and I'm tough on my stuff.

I have a FTTC4 and I'm looking at possibly a 5 by the end of the year, Might even run Touring at Da'Birds next year instead of oval like the last several years, Last February I helped with onroad tech and raced oval. Dont ask me when I slept, I dont remember.

sanwa wrx i hit lots of stuff still going strong after 12 months.
gets my vote. though low profile servo's like the 9550 are attractive asit can give u more room in cramped tc's.

Thanks for the replies guys and keep'em coming, The specs on the 9550 dont look quite fast enough and I've already had one recomended servo end up being too slow in the past, My reflexes aren't what they used to be but I need the car to turn when I want it to, Not when it wants to.

Has anyone had any luck with the Hitec stuff? They are always applauded in the magazine writeups.

wrx is tied for the fastest servo at 6 volts .06 sec transit time. cant get faster

I've had issues with Hitech's not wanting to always center correctly, they will sometimes be one spline off either left or right after trimming. I've had some with no issue, I've had two that always did it. Others have said the same thing to me.

.06 is more than fast enough, especially if your getting slow as you say. A faster response can actually give you more issues if you're hand eye coordination is beginning to worsen. But you can always slow the servo down with the radio if needed.

Most reliable and best all around servos are JR's in my opinon..but I've used everything and only with Hitech's have I actually had any "issue" with, I've just had failures or have damaged others beyond repair (which was not the servo's fault..)

Oops, Must've been looking at another spec because the 9550 is faster than what I have in my other car now.

The 9550 is a great servo. I got in to the hobby in october and i ran at that as my first servo. I hit lots of things when i started out and it survived. I have one in my XXX Cr and it's working out great.
