Default Foams

Can anyone give me a good web site that has foams? My lhs doesnt carry a good selection. Also, can you make your own? If so how and what equipment do you need?

You can make your own...Boomer used to awhile back. You need a tire truer, rubber, rims, contact cement, and a desire to get dirty.

If you can get the rims separate, and the use of a tire truer, I would suggest you buy donuts (foam tires unmounted) for 1:8th cars. A set of rear tires will make 4 touring car tires and will be alot cheaper. The grip level is also a lot better and so are the compounds. A lot of people use this method.

A good tip for gluing your own donuts:

Wrap insulating tape around the rim first. Then apply a light coat of brown Evostick glue to both the rim and tire and then press the tire on. It will give a better hold than using contact glue or CA. When the tires are worn down you simply cut through the tire and tape and peel off. The rim can be reused and will not need any sanding to remove lumps of stubborn foam that wont come off. The tautness of the rubber will hold all on the rim and the tape will never give way.
