I have the 3 racing V1R rear end and the V1RR rear end with the 3 racing camber links. I have tested both a fair bit. Frankly I cannot really feel any significant difference between the two. Possibly the floating rear end has more straight line stability. I know that the V1R rear end allows the rear end of the lexan body to roll more in the corners.

One of the theoretical disadvantages of the floating rear end is that there are many more friction points in the linkages and this added friction will change the spring rate of the rear suspension in a non-linear manner.

What are the technically advantages. It's not like driving a V one S. The two cars are like chalk and cheese.

No probs. I think the floating rear end is far more beneficial for a lola body. With these bodies having no body movement with the suspension and the the significant downforce going to the hubs is far more noticable. See the 1/8th scale cars.

Yeah I was having this discussion with a guy the other day at hobbyrama and he seems to think the same thing. His other comment was that the Evo is not that much different than the RR and that the cars may be becoming to adjustable. He said when he was running the Fantom that Kyosho was coming out with up grades for the car every couple of months, and that some of these upgrades actually made the car worse. That's his comments anyway. I'll still be keen to test the EVO as soon as it arrives on my doorstep. Catch up with you later AMG.

Apologies for the delay in responding - I may be sleeping while you are awake.
You have a few opinions on alternative clutch's, here.

The reason I was asking is that our "vintage" VoneR is fitted with a Fantom centax - it's a bit big & heavy.
Later developments have seen these clutch's become more compact, lighter etc. and there is likely some benefit in changing from our Fantom unit. The Mugen clutch is used by a number of guys here and mostly they seem pretty happy with it.

Yeah all true points. Depends what you want in a car I guess.

Might have to bumm some off of Manti
Thanks, HAG.
Kawahara spares are a bit difficult here, too. I'm still looking for the (clutch side) outdrive for a VoneR negative diff.

Yeah AMG I know what you mean. They stick by you through the good and the bad times and ask for very little from you. I don't know what I'd do without my 2 girls either.

Damo
Does the V one S handle better with the floating rear end?
