Hey guys,

Does anyone know what the sizes of the holes are for the shock pistons in the Phantom Evo compared to the standard V One R pistons? I'm using the phantom springs and would like to match the piston valving, can the standard be drilled out/is it smaller?

In general over all the makes I would say probably 2 use the one-way, 7 use standard diffs and 1 use solid axle.

Just a guess.

5-one-way
4-std Diff
1-solid

I just got a one way and debating if i should put in or not what r benfits and drawbacks? imma have a vote who here in this v1r thread use ONEWAYS?????????

Well I have to say that it has been quite a while since I have run a front differential. All my active vehicles utilize a front oneway. I think the only possible execption would be the RC10L2 which is onty rear wheel drive, so basically the inherent benefits of a one way are there.

Hmmm.....I would venture to guess, here in So Cal it would be:

8-one-way
2-std diff
0-solid

I do not believe I have heard of anyone here using a solid front except in electric.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the Fantom Shocks VS the Shocks that come with the RR? I have seen pictures of the housings on the Fantom and they look very similar. Just wondering if they are one in the same.

I maybe guessing, but hear go's

The shocks are the same except the valves and springs, but if I am wrong please tell me

I have not heard if they but some sort of adjustable dampening feature like serpent has in theirs

What I was really curious about is that the Shock kits for the Fantom are cheaper than the V One R's. I think Tower has the shock kits for like $4.00 per pair more than the Fantom. A 1/10 scale part that is (I think) virtually the same, but is more expensive than its 1/8 scale counterpart.... Go figure....

it's called supply and demand,theres more demand for 1/10 sale these days so the jack the price up to screw the average joe.
Does any body have any thought on keeping a centax set right, the one i have keeps tighting up on me. nothing like running and all of a sudden having the motor go to max rpm on you, let that happen a few times and you will lunch a rod, not good for the old wallet.

So does anyone have experience with these Serpent adjustable shocks? Are they effective? Is this a transplant option?

They are effective in the sense that you can adjust and fine tune the shocks without changing and resorting to different shock oils. That is within a certain extent. You adjust by turning / clicking the shocks to 1, 2, 3 or 4 holes.

Hi , how much longer you guys think the VoneR ,RR will be around ? I own a Vone R and is contemplating to get a Vone RR but man, the Mtx-3 is really hard to resist but at the same time I really don't want to learn a new car all over again ...what do you guys think ?
