Default MTX-3 Rear End Mod...

AMGracer,
Did you have to shorten the Rear Track Width to 200mm after the MTX-3 rear end mod?

Does anyone know where to pick the RR up for a decent price? $379.99 (rich blood) from Tower and $280/$285 from RCModel, BUT shipping is $55- still a deal.

Oh, I dunno . . We use the Fantom clutch for the same reasons - there was no RR around at the time. The Fantom clutch uses three conical pieces for the fly-weights and has never given us a problem. I would say it's a pretty robust unit, just not as light as the latest trick ones like the Kawahara.

Had a chance to try the Fantom Red springs last weekend. We started off using Gold all round and ended the day with Black fronts and the Red's on the rear. Tyres were Active 40/40. I was pretty pleased with how this all worked, actually, but I can't imagine how we would find enough steering if we had used Red's on the front also. I had imagined that Brendale has only a little more grip than Lilydale - never run at Brendale, so I'm guessing a bit, here.
I would think that Fantom Yellows would be really skatey at Lilydale.

We also tried some new gearing. 18/22 with 48/43 spurs.
I know it looks wrong on paper, but on the track it was great.
These Venom pinions wear very well, too.
