I presumed he had submitted to all the Mugen hype and was moving over to the dark side.

I my self am useing the 5 Stars universals in front and dog bones in the rear.

These universals seem to be OK since I have had them in for over a year and no problems, but these are my second set I busted the first set when I hit the wall entering a high speed sweeper.

Maybe my driving is better since I have not hit much in a long time

Not realy on a whim... I have been thinking of trying something different for a while now.... and the local shop has reduced its kyosho support, mainly stocking mugen. Ive only put the car on sale, not all that worried if it doesnt sell all that quick, I will get a mtx3 either way, but it will just take a little longer to get if my v-one doesnt sell.

A quick one on ASD's post.....

yes, all these mugen updates can be found in some form or another on the V-one rr. However I berlieve mugan has spent alot more attention to detail..... ie twin disk brakes, rear anti squat, cg a hell of a lot lower than the v-one r. And more importantly, distribution support. I know in Australia you can be assured of good distributer backup, and its not unheard of to get the factory backed drivers on the phone in person to ask questions. But I think your being a little pickey. The rr release wasnt all that hyped as it was only an update, and kyosho isnt that well supported in the us.

I'm not saying the mtx3 is better.... but its different. I want to give it a spin and see how it goes.

i totally agree with ur statement, and i really wish kyosho would promote the v one r/rr here in north america,
oh yea, one question, there's dual disk brakes on the mtx-3?

Took a peep at this car and discovered that the receiver pack is placed right next beneath the fuel tank...
just wonder if refueling job requires extra attention...!!!

I don't think you need to be worried about fuel on the receiver battery pack... Just don't have a car which has a design that puts the receiver unit itself under the tank

Seriously, I believe Trinity Reflex NT started that first... Now Serpent's 705 and Mugen's MTX-3 is also on the same route in putting the battery pack below the tank. I find that it is more convenient to access the receiver pack that pops out from the bottom of the chassis.

Remember the new Mugen and Serpent cars are doing the same as Kyosho has done, SHRINK there 1/8th cars into 1/10 tourers

Wich in my opinion is a good thing, it brings about good debates.

Is this just a V1RR with an NSX body or is it something actually a bit different?

Oh come on you know better than to say that. Serpent was the first one to shrink their onroad car into a 1/10 tourer. Kyosho was one of the last. You know the Impulse shared many many plastic parts and designs with our Impacts and that they came out first with the (relatively) centered inverted steering servo on the 10th scale.
As for the universals, it depends on which factory ones you buy, the shiny ones, uh no. The expensive ugly gray ones, uh yeah.

BTW for everyone ie. Taylor-Racing et al, The hot ticket is track time.

asd why worry about what others are hyping? You like your Kyosho? Be happy. The is always hype about something new.

Man this thread is turning AGAIN into us against everybody else's cars and a who did what first and who copied who and they're talking about something knew so they must be slamming our car.

Most of the differences are at the transmitter end, not the receiver end.
