Best 1/8th scale steering servo??
Hey guys/gals, my ole trusty 94358 steering servo of 2 years finally died last night. Do I want the 9000s or T for steering duties? I have another 958 on the throttle/brakes.
If not JR anyone have any other brands they like?
I race every weekend at the club level and attend the state and Nat's although I dont compete in the A's at those.

i would run a 9000S on steering. It has plenty of torque at 128oz and the speed will make the car react quicker with its .06 transit. I currently run 9000S's on both steering and throttle. You really want more speed that torque on a buggy steering. If you were running truggy then I would say 9000T on steering.

dialed except for the slow .13 speed lol thats the same as the 9000T

Funny, all my racing buddies run the 9000t in the steering. I am with you in I would think I want faster reaction. They say they all turn the speed down ever on the .15. You want the T because of the tourque steer can actually force a sub 200oz servo to straiten out on power out of a hard turn.
I may just go with the 400 in/oz JR DS8711 Ultra Torque since the 9000T are all back ordered and I have the Indiana state race Sat. 140 bucks! BOO.....Hisss

Well...you could also consider the DS 1015. .108/Sec + 201.4 Oz T = $95

FWIW- I have been using the 13 for over a year now. Had it in several different vehicles. I even had it on LiPo, direct, no regualtor for a race day, when I determined during practice that glitching I had was due to the low amp reg I had hooked up. Now, I def wouldn't recomend a LiPo direct, even with Hitec's TG series which are rated safe at 7.4. But to know I could be safe in a pinch was very nice

Send it in to get fixed, its cheaper than buying another one. I had to send 2 in because of my mistake with a throttle setup. Both had burnt motors, so it cost about $100 to fix the two. I didnt even have warranty or proof of purchase.
Otherwise id recommend the JR 9000S also.

Ya, no use tossing it away. I actually sent in 3 servos, none with any proof of purchase or warranty, 2 were my 358s and one was my friends digital airtronics servo. No questions asked, they called, told me the total, I paid and they were back within a week of being fixed. However, now I have 2 spare 358s just incase I need to send one or 2 in to get fixed. However, Im still eyeing the 9000s. My friend has one in his 8ight and I love it.

Futaba 9351 or KO-Propo PDS-2368, those are 14Kg puppies, enough to drive the steering of a truggy without a hitch.
Had a Futaba 9351/9451 servo combo on my MBX5-T and now on the second car I have a pair of PDS-2368, expensive servos but top-notch.

Chad - I run the Futaba s9350 on the buggy. They last and last. My 9351 only survived a year on the truggy so it either has weaker gears or the extra torque it puts out is too much. You other options are the Hitec 5955 or 5995. I can tell you that your .1s Airtronics 358 is slower than the Futaba 9350 rated at .12s or the Hitec rated at .15s. For some reason the Airtronics speed specs do not line up with Ko, Futaba, Jr, or Hitec. Hopefully Hobbytown has one of these in stock. I'm pretty sure they keep the 9350 in stock.

9000t is the way to go super strong and fast enough... have had it for six months not a problem yet... my 9351 on the other hand went out in two weeks

Also if you have the servo saver excessively tightened all the stress created by the constant beating ends on the servo, plus mounting servos without rubber groomets adds more beating because they don't have any place to flex a little.
The 9351 and the PDS-2368 has the same specs in torque 195oz (14Kg) and the Futaba is a little quicker 0.12 vs. 0.15 @6volts. No matter which choose, each will be the best you can get for the steering of your car.
