I have had 2 Hitec servos out of 11 go bad in over 2 years and one was my fault, as I didn't check to see if my pit guys shut my car off, and the failsafe held the brakes slightly closed for an hour, and the other had about 45 stick packs through it. Plus, I had brand new servos back within 2 weeks each time, and it only cost me the shipping to get it to Hitec. For throttle get a 645 or 900 series, and go 5955 for steering, might be over kill, but it is titanium geared, and better to have to much then not enough. I have heard a lot of people switching from Airtronics to JR and I would say that JR would have comparable service as Hitec, as they have been super with the Spektrum service. Either way, the servos that come with any radio are not going to be very good for steering, a $50 servo will not be strong enough for steering, and will burn out sooner than a $100 servo.

I have been racing for 12 years, an i have used all of the above an thought after equipment
My conclusion is Futaba is the only way to go. Best overall performance/value/durability.
I have seen allot of dissapointed people over the years including myself.
I used to be an Airtronics all the way guy.
Nitro vehicles are very hard on servo's...make sure all of your adjustments are set properly (EPA's) end point adjustments.
Like posted earlier you need a minimum 120 oz torque for steering/brake throttle
I'm not paid/sponsored by Futaba

I run a futaba 9451 in my Kyosho 777. 120 oz of torque at .10 sec. its a great buy at $75. The spectrum 590 servo in that radio package has enouph power for throttle/ brake but it is a little on the slow side. (85 at .15)
