Well they are many years to late, but they are very welcome to the 4wd world! I'm sure I remember reading that someone from AE said that they would be coming out with a BJ4 based 4wd car at a hobby show when the GT2 was debuted. Hopefully in the end this will end up with a molded chassis, that would make it a bit cheaper, plus you wouldn't have to worry about delaminating the carbon. Hopefully this is a real project for them though, and the car is out fairly soon. My ZX-5 will be up for sale the minute I know I can get an AE 4wd.
And just incase any AE emplyees see this post, I have a message for you to give to the engineers: Make it strong! With lipo becoming more prevalent its possible in the future that these cars could be running upwards of 15 minute mains, so mabye take some cues from the RC8. Plus if it gets a reputation for strength n00bs and bashers wont be afraid to buy one!

Holy smokes!! This should be interesting. I do agree that what it needs to bring to the table to make it stand out is strength and durability in the face of a brushless / lipo setup. Knowing AE though, they will stick with the tried and true formula set by the BJ4 and let their ace drivers bring the wins / publicity / sales.
Another thing to think about is that there is a whole new generation of RC18T/B/MT owners out there that are looking for a big brother for their 18th scale...
