I would have thought that some one would have at least taken a shop vac to those puddles. There really isn't anything wrong with running on a messy track, but running through 2 inches of water just isn't smart. Could you imagine if you were told you have to qualify on the track covered with 2 inch deep puddles and some one else got to qualify on a muddy track w/out puddles?

If the probability of rain was 7/10 right throughout the year and you travelled miles and miles, what would you do?

Some people dont have any choice and yes the weather is that unpredictable and so you do what you can with what you have. Ive raced many a time where you finish a race where the whole darn field of cars looked identical because either its fully covered in grass chippings or MUD , racing in that part of the globe isnt pleasant at all

Dude, that weekend, the whole country was getting soaked, so someone would have had to stand there all through qualifying sucking up the water, but it would of probably been falling from the skiy faster.

I understand a few were looking at warranty claims after that weekend, lol, and stock values in miniature bearing firms went up the week after, heehee.

yeah electric buggies runnign halfway up their bodyshells isn't smart at all... electricity + water = something f*cked up. i learnt this the hard way when i was 7 after running my tyco 4x4 rebound (one of those funny little cars which goes both ways up) through a puddle. the car died, only to be revived about a month ago (7 years later!). it is now my super noobish basher, but enough on that.

I am proud to say I race over here in the UK and have raced at that track, however I did not attend that event. Most people over here use blue tack to cover any holes in the speedo and use either heavy duty tape to hold the shell on or Velcro to prevent the water from getting under the shell. Brushed motors are fine however brushless drivers have had to use again blue tack to cover any holes in the can to prevent water damage.

However even with all these steps plenty of speed controllers died

Isn't there some type of foam in a can that I have seen guys use?
I googled Blue Tack. Apparently called Fun Tack in the US?
Its the stuff used to hold up posters and the like, right?
