That is a Tamiya FF01 front wheel drive. It used the same chassis tub as the TA02 four wheel drive. The TA02 followed the TA01(which had a longer tub chassis-still being used on the Hummer). Properly set up the FF01, with a good stock motor-could give fits to a four wheel drive. Provided you drove it correctly. Try it, it is a really fun car! Don

That was my very first hobby grade R/C car! I remember getting it for $80 RTR. Mechanical speed controller and all. The MSC would always get hung up and run away. It was nice and slow, so I just drove it back to me and moved it back to neutral. Then a few days later, I painted a body for it, and my dad wanted to drive the car(it had the new body on it), and he drove it into a car's tire. The tire shattered the body. I was so sad that day. Good times, good times.

Hi guys,
It was my first rc car ! Hours and hours of fun with it
It was almost undestructible. I must still have it in a box somewhere in the garage.
Cheers.

I use to race that class at the TCS......was a very competitive class and FUN class. Cars were easy to work on.....I think Tamiya made a mistake to discontinue these cars as well as this class at TCS. Back in the early days of touring cars I use to place in top 3 against 4wd cars with these cars in club racing.
