I'm picking up my first bits tomorrow, a Gear-Diff is one of them.

I want some lock from it (i drift), would 30K oil be a good start?

I see Grip cars running up to 10K on rubbers, and my 2 friends at the club will run the S400 on VTEC 30 tires, 10.5T BL and LIPO, should they fill with 5000w for starters?

Thanks.

You could even go up 100k to get more lock, i've used 30k on high traction and it's not even close to be locked.

Ok, i'll get some really thick stuff ordered then.

I know 1/8th off-road diff's dont lock at all with 30K but the S400 is a little bit smaller car, so i tought 30K would be rather stiff.

I ran my car in a drift competetion ( showing support for he local club). It was a blast, and my car car was one of the best out there.. I ran the spool in the front, and a ball diff in the rear (very tight). The setup was close to stock, but with Yellow/white springs. this was running PVC tires with a 10.5..

Mike's setup was a little bit better then mine, thats the one you want. The track we last raced on has the highest grip of any track you can imagine.

easiest and best drift setup is to put a spool in the rear and a oneway up front this is on Asphalt with HDPE tyres.
On a gear diff just put some kiddies play dough in it and you have a solid axle.

I'll try Rear Geardiff (playing with silicone lubes)/Front spool
When i feel ready for the E-Brake action
(cant handle that now, not that good a drifter/driver),
i will try a One-way (not sure front or center).
If the car does not slide easy with the thick oil in the diff i will install spool.

401112 Solid axle RR, this is out of the manual, i wonder if they actually make it? otherwise i lock a gear diff up.

5000wt is a good place to start for TC racing. Not to sure on the drift side, although I imagine the thicker the oil and tighter the diff the funner for the drift crowd...

Yeah!! I think te weakest part of the S400 s the rear ball diff. Started out tight. 15 minute of testing, it loosens up. that the diff start slipping, and making a sqeaching sound. Retorque the diff works fine for a while, loosen up again. Turned out you strip the lock nut.

Ordered the Gear Diff and going to try that. One-way Frt axle or one-way 16t Mid set. They work the same But the axle set I'll trust a little more.

I'd like to switch The ball diff to the spool, Spool is approximately 4mm wider on the bulkhead then the rear. I alway like the posi-traction on the rearend better.

Time will tell what set up is best for the individual racer!!!

Can someone tell me where I can get online a oneway front diff? My local shop is sold out and Serpent has got troubles producing new ones... I'm currently waiting over 1.5 month...

Ordered one last week From www.molzermoweryracing.com. You are in Europe they will do International shipment. Or go to Serpant websight a go the North America. MMRacing websight go to shop and go to serpent parts. They have 'live' inventory, if they have it, will say Add to Cart.

Good luck! I when to MMRacing it is in stock!! part # 401110

Hey guys here is my setup that I used to win the 10.5 class at round 2 of the Florida Sate Series. The set up is for a very high bite asphalt track. It should be posted on Serpent.com in the next few days.

If you guys have any setup questions or questions in general about the S400 PM me or post on here and I will do my best to get to them ASAP.
