Has anybody tried the ABS brake feature in your radios ? Just curious.

It must be something psychological that says unless your leading you arent able to go fast enough.

In contrast to your (preferred) style modellor, I feel being in front allows me to dictate what goes on behind me. I can drive faster, pull away and leave things more open for both of us, or I can tighten up and dictate my pursuer's line by the one that I take. Needless to say you have to have a good driver behind you (with a clear and calm head ) otherwise they ram into you due to a lack of ability or patience, or you could just pull away because they are just not good enough to consistently keep up.
Depending on where I am, my last half minute is either balls out, or just hanging on.

ABS is illeagal in ROAR races.
Brakes will get you in trouble more than they will help.
I use brakes in the pits.

ABS would take forever to properly set and it creates dead spots in your servo after time. Its not worth it. The more control you have, the better, I say.

The break setting
Is it normal to set the break linkage as it apply break 20-30% break at idle. (means it will only totally release break once we pull trigger.

hmm. ive never heard of that one
my brake is off when im at idle, so that the car is pretty much free rolling
but that might just work for the tight track im gonna be runng at
exspecially considering i have a slow throttle servo

Tight track
Yes you are right .. I setup this because the track i going to compete is too tight . But I set it as per my theory not in practical mode. I'm not really sure about the actual performance
#24
well i wouldn't set it at 30% but mor like 10-15 would be pretty good

No brakes at idle. Many of the faster racer dial in some roll with the trim button to keep the corner speeds up. Drag brake used in On-Road only slows you down.
If the Track is short and tight, try some more Rear Toe to get the Car to rotate better in the turns.

i dont run brakes at idle or drag brake but its becuase i run a oneway front diff
some drag brake on a car with front and rear diffs does have some advantages on a small tight track when i ran diffs i used it some
i used to use abs but i have stopped because i believe it was working my servo too hard now i have to set the brake travel so that the brakes dont engage hard enough to lock the rear up or it would spin me
i perfer to follow than to have someone behind me challenging my position i think if they are fast enough to stay right behind me i let them by and follow them they are probably faster and i can follow their line
however if i can get ahead and have clear track in front and behind that is better i can drive more conservative and run clean fast laps
i aim to be consistent i am not usually the fastest on the track but i am almost always there at the end of the race and for that i usually finish very well

my only strategy is to get through the first
couple turns clean if i get out with the lead
pack then i will follow the car in front if i feel
that his pace is fast enough. If not i will make
a pass right away before a faster guy who
might have just had bad luck in the start
catches up. if the guy in front of me seems
to have a fast pace then I just let him drive
me around the track till i can read where
he is fast and where he is slower on the
track wich hopefully will pay of later so you
know where you can make a clean pass.
most importantly is just settle in at my own
pace and hopefully it is fast enough for the
day.

Which one is faster - break or release!
Guys...
Which one is faster ?
Senario - Using rubber tires, tight track, parking lot.
Which one is faster make a lap ?
1. Full speed - Full throttle and break just before corner slow in fast out
2. Or Full Speed - Full throttle and release -roll just before corner slow in and fast out.
This weekend i join a race and it will be my first race so common guys help me...
Emm.. thank you in adv.
