Order from this guy. It comes from Japan and will get here in less than a week. Also his prices are the best and postage is CHEAP!

I was worried about that initially. It hasn't become a problem at all. You're going to be fine running LiPo packs in that chassis.

One more question as I just finished the build of my IFS-R. The directions call for a 13.5mm space on the push rods, however if I leave them this way the car is WAY too low to run (drags). To make this work, I adjusted the push rods to a point where the space is now 17mm. Does this seem right or did I do something else wrong. I've rechecked my work a number of times and can't locate any other area that seems to need attention. I've built a number of kits over the years, but this is my first IFS.

PS - In regards to my previous post regarding the 37T pulley. I carefully reamed out (with a body reamer) the center hole on the 37T diff pulley and it fits perfect in the spool (screws lined up perfectly). Thanks to everyone for the additional sources, but it seems this will work for now while I await the correct pulley.

Use the proper spacers indicated by the instructions. Then raise/adjust the ride height via the threaded damper collars like on a normal touring-car...

Altering those spacers is like moving the damper to a different position on the control arm. Not so much for adjusting ride height...

Is there anywhere I can download the manual for the IFS-R? I can't find it in any of the usual places...

Really what I need to know is what bearing sizes I need to replace the bushings in the steering. 4 x 850? I am ordering the 53993 rocker set which comes with bearings so that part is covered.

Also, what's the internal ratio so I can order gearing at the same time as I order the kit?

I want to gear an IFS-R to about 3.6 FDR for 17.5 racing. What spur/pinion combo has anyone used to do this? 74/42 (both of which I have) will give me 3.62, but will the range of adjustment allow it?

Default IFS or IFS-R

I am trying to cut costs and have an opportunity to buy an TA05 IFS NSX 2007 kit for $160 ( closeout pricing ). The best deal I have found for the IFS R version is $230. The obvious differences between the two ( with regard to cost ) is the IFS comes with a body and a silver can motor ( basically another $50 in savings because I need both the body and 540 motor. The difference $70 + $50 = $120. My goal is to race this car in TCS regionals this coming year so I am wondering what specific hop up parts are thought to be essential to making the IFS competitive( and sturdy) with the IFS-R , then I can compare the cost difference. I don't really know all the specific differences between the two models so any help would be appreciated before I have to make the decision of one or the other.

note: I have read almost the entire thread and nothing was conclusive about upgrading the IFS to an IFS -R.

Based on my experience racing a standard TA-05, going to the IFS-R vs. the regular IFS made sense to me. The items that really helped my TA-05 were the universal shafts and the TRF shocks. These items alone justified the price of the IFS-R for me.
