RC gear keep stripping please help!
i have an electric rustler with 18/86 gear, no matter how tight I tight the screw on the pinion to the motor shaft it keep sliding out, the gear mesh is correct. Is it ok to use a little bit of glue to hold it in place?

for now I'll get that and keep it in place, just how I can change the gear later if I need to go smaller or higher pinion? What is good to remove the glue you mention?

I use it on all my pinions. Just as a preventative.
A new set screw would possibly work as well. Or pinion entirely.
I use the team associated locking adhesive,
Part # 1596.
A tiny drop will do ya.

i know it seems kinda silly to point out but just in case. you are aligning the set screww to the flat part of the motor shaft so it stays in place right? also check that your pinion has not cracked right where the threads are, if it is it will loosen also. then a new pinion would help you out. or that you haven't stripped the threads trying to tighten it up to much. again a new pinion will help.

thanks, this morning I put some glue in it and haven't strip any gear for over an hour of driving. These are brand new spur and new pinion and I screw it against the flat side of the shaft with gear mesh too, just can't understand why it keep stripping. Also what is your gear ratio right now and how often do you guys change it?

Blue locktite is what you want with the metal pinion and set screw. It will lock the threads up so it doesn't back out. Its the vibrations that is whats backing your pinion out. Now, if you are backing your motor out which widens the space between the pinion and spur, put some locktite on the motor mount screws and put them in.
DO NOT USE RED LOCTITE. ONLY THE BLUE STUFF.
REPLACE ALL GEARS THAT MATE TOGETHER IF ONE STRIPS. NOT JUST THE STRIPPED GEAR!
