LRP Brushless
Just bought one new a few days ago and everything is fine excpt that after a minute of running the motor stops but the steering still works. It takes maybe 5 seconds until the motor starts back up again but it continues to do this. The motor is not hot and the speedcontrol is much under the thermal range. The sensor wire is connected as well.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Low battery voltage cutoff? There are at least two settings for the battery, one is for lipo / automatic and the other is racing. If you are on the lipo/automatic setting, and the battery voltage goes down low enough, it will kill power to the motor, but maintain steering. This is consistent with your letting the car sit for a few seconds, the battery rebounds, and you get another short spin of the motor. Not saying this is it for sure, but its somethign to check.

That is exactly what happened to mine. Read the thread below.

Ah I never thought of it. I didnt change any of the settings yet so it must still be in the default LiPo mode. Ill change that tomorrow.
I also noticed that when I geared down a tooth and by taking the transponder out I could go much much longer without it cutting out, still not for 8 minutes but getting better none the less.

The mode solved it all. I set it into 4-7 cell mode the night before and when I got to the track it did it again. But I realized that I didnt completly go through all of the mode settings so it didnt save. When I did it has worked flawlessly.
To those that say LRP's brushless equipment is junk, I have to disagree. I have no bad things to say about the motor and speedcontrol.

That was the part of the instructions that had me puzzled. It didn't actually say how to exit setup and save the settings. I read between the lines and did like you the second time around, went through all the modes and found it returned to operation mode and saved the settings. No shortcut. I'm liking my LRP sphere comp. I do run mine with lipo, so I do use the cutoff setting.
