Default TRF416 Steering Center Mount on TA05MS

Why is this thread all the way down in Page 4?!?!

Anyway, I kinda like the 416's steering center mount. So I am toying with the idea of putting this on my 05MS.
Can anyone help to check if the width of this center mount can be fitted onto the 05MS?

Obviously, this will be fitted along with the 416's steering posts.

But there is a minor problem, even if the width is similar.

The 05MS' upper deck may not be able to be secured to the center mount.

Anyhow, first thing first. Will the width fit?

Anyone out there able to advise on this?

The center mount is 36 mm from end to end.

hi guys, just want to ask i will be trying to run my 05ms in cement track using modified motor maybe 9t or 14t.. Anybody tried it using modified motors? hows the performance compared to other cars.
another question, how does it perform when compared to ta05/r/ifs? some says they got good results from ta05(oh boy it's like on rails) and when they tried the 05ms they are complaining about losing rear traction issue (which tamiya moved the motor position a lil bit to the rear) .. which and which is true? do you think the ta05 is better than 05ms? personally i compared it to silvercan, and my 05ms is much better than my friends ta05. and modified is another story i guess.

they are complaining about losing rear traction issue
Mine has to much rear traction and perfect for parking lot racing but if I go to a high traction track its understeering. Then again every car is different/set-up.

I like my 05ms more than my trf415msxx with Novak 3.5 brushless 5-cell...

perhaps your traction issue is a problem of your rubber setup... on cement, you need to change stuff a little, making the front a little bit harder to allow it to push a little more than on a outdoor asphalt track. try blue springs on the front.

cheers,
al

I suppose that the TRF416 "stole the fire".

I only had a problem with the lack of rear traction on my TA05MS when I used a 10 turn Orion V2 on a silver can setup. Otherwise, if I have to adjust the amount of rear traction, it is usually to lose a little rear traction.
