I also wondered about flex drive, I see it in boats a lot. That way the alignment of Motor-shaft-prop don't have to be exactly perfect.

interesting prototype.
Best thing I can guess is that there is some sort of spring/dampening system in the Diff outdrives?

I will stick with my X-Ray, you can use all the X-Ray parts you want, but it will never be as good as the origional

According to the primary source (russian forum) this sample has been made for tests and comparison of new suspension only.
Completely prepared chassis weight is 460 gr.

Well that may be the case, but i think most people are interested in having a look at the suspension and the gearbox... so come on post a few pics

I remember a guy from the Chicago area actually built a car around similar ideas as this car. He used 4 spring steel arms--similar material to the pan car t bars silva sells- and 1/12 dampner tubes. I don't remeber what camber and caster system he used, but i think it was like this car, as he was a Trinity driver. I thought he used Schumacher hubs, since the old hubs were vertical pivot ball. HPI drive train too. I know he ran it at Cleveland, but I can't remember how he did. It makes sense that something like this could work, though I would bet it is even better on foam.

It is translated from Russian forum:
http://rcauto.spb.ru/forum/index.php...opic=1337&st=0

Spring/dampening system features:

- Fast and simple smooth adjustment of shock-absorbers parameters over a wide range without change of oil and springs.
- An possibility of asymmetric action (compression resistance is 3 times less than resistance of a release on an existing sample)
- practically zero wearing and oil leaking
