Had a chance to run these at the Canadian Challenge a few weeks ago. These tires are dialed. I started the tires around 57mm and ran them untill they were fuzz on the rim. They were fastest when they were fuzz on the rim.

awesome tires.

There is also some conversation going on about the new tires in the Parma/PSE thread , page 4.

Very interesting!

We can probably expect more longevity from these. Starting them at the same foam thickness as a normal tire leads a different range of diameters through their life (62-55 vs 59-52). We will be wearing through more rubber in the 62-55mm region than we would in a 59-52mm region, and that might be more runs on a set.

As long as the price is no higher than current one-stage tires, I'd run them.

(and yes, I do run my foams down to the rim)

Can these be purchased online anywhere now? If not, when?

Ok, I saw them on Horizon and the Parma website but the price was out of hand. I'm assuming they'll come back to earth soon? What do the regular Parma tires usually go for?

It also looks like they will widen the track width?

They actually do not have the 0.75 mm + offset that the old rims used to have. They have the same offset as a Jaco rim. Trust me, they are far from that rim, though. They have 10 individual webs and are much stiffer than anything else out there currently.

Thanks for the insight. I run Parmas, I really can't wait to try some. I usually run mine to 53mm before giving them away. I really could use the width I'm running the FK05. Hopefully they last as well. I have really had good luck with Parmas staying on the wheel and not coming unglued.
Does this mean they will discontinue the old ones?

So will these tires last longer than current (non-wrap) foams? There's been a lot of talk lately about the trouble wraps have caused at large events. Does this reduce that trouble, or just give Parma a competitor to the 2-stage tires with the same disadvantages?

Someone that attends big races and isn't sponsored by Jaco will probably have to give you the details. Everything I've read here seems to indicate that at big races, they're essentially one run tires, and are prone to peeling when trued down real small for that one run. There was a lot of grumbling after, uh, Cleveland I think about the state of foam tire racing with wraps in the picture.

From what I am hearing Jaco is also going to a big rim. I cannot confirm this. Parma did a lot of testing and they gained better results with the big rim over wraps and they are not one run tires (even at a big race).
