Good day gents.
New Mtx 4r owner here.. Im relatively new to the nitro scene, so take it e-z on me, I have a chance to get a Ninja mr12-T01 kit for a nice price, or should i go with the Nova 353 09 , 2630 pipe, with small manifold combo.. Just looking for the best bang for buck,

Default Dumb question

I just got a MTX4R and found that the front wheels only turn once compared to 2 turns from the rear wheels. Is this normal? Also why is it that on the Mugen set up sheets from team drivers, am I noticing 2 different diameter sizes from left to right on tire size? Would this mean that they were countering for balance or the amount of left or right turns in a race? I bought the car used so I have no manuals for the car except for the one I downloaded from their site. I am experienced in electric touring car racing, but this nitro stuff with foam tires is weird to me.

Recheck all your pulleys to see if they havent been changed.

I'd suggest using the 24T pulley in the outside middle shaft instead of the 25T. I believe with the 25T, you would need almost identical tire sizes whereas with the 24T, you can use a 2mm split.

The front center belt pulley is a 24 tooth and the rear center pulley is an 18 tooth. By split do you mean run a taller tire in the rear than in the front to compensate for rear tire wear and what I think may be called "overdrive"? Why wouldn't you want everything equal?

hey guys what benefits in using a front diff to a solid oneway?

my car is going strong and i seem to be improving each race meet on a fairly stock setup out of the box.

I see some of my club members using a DIFF and not sure what the benefits can be?

doe sit give more steering os it is a bit better on front belts and drive train?

front diff will stress the drivetrain lesser and kinder to the belts.
it'll also give you slightly more turn-in but out of corner punch will be reduced slightly.

...and it gives you incredibly smooth and effective braking. Definitely a "late-braker's" dream set up.

the rears don't last the main and the car will be looooooooseeeeee!!!

I think it's a typo error, I guess kodak wanted to write :

61mm front
63mm rear


For my self, ( my hometrack is quite abbrasive this year )

62 front, 35shore
65 rear, 40shore
