Mod motor cutting out

Mod motor cutting out
I have a Reedy Ti 11x2, which is a couple of years old now but has not had heavy use and is looked after.
But recently it has started to cut out during races and it just feels slow, the brushes are fine and the brush springs seem to be fine. Does this sound like it might be new armature time?
The ESC and all other electrics are fine as the car runs without a problem with all my other motors
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks

If you've been using it for so long and have not change the brushes and cut the commutator. Its time. After cutting decrease the timing on the endbell by a little to compensate for the timing advance from a thinner comm.
Remember to run-in you new comm and new brushes before you run.

The comm has a fresh cut and the brushes are near new (in length and age) thats why i am thinking that perhaps the comm is getting too small?
I will have to have another look at it tomorrow, but it could well be that the brushes are not sitting on the comm properly after the last cut..... I will measure the comm while i am at it too.

looks like it had a dodgy brush, it only worked if the leads were bent a certain way so i replaced them and it works perfectly now.

OK, I will try that if it happens again, but the brushes i took out are only 0.5mm shorter than the ones i put in.
