Can anyone tell me any information about these? I recently purchased one and was wondering if the specs are correct. I have put it in a TC4. Suggested gearing or any other information.

What color is the can.They make about 6 different Pro Stock Motor's.
Let us know what it says on the endbell and what color the can of the motor is UNDER the sticker.

hello texracer. the can is black. the endbell says epic 27.

Sounds like you have the Trinity based "X" stock...I believe this motor has a ton of RPM but lacks a little in the tourque department. I would gear it a couple teeth lower than a Co27.. we would need to know an approximate track size.

Yes, out in the open like this, everyone who looks at this thread can see the conversation, but if you want to keep something more private, you can ask questions directly through PM's(Private Messages). Now that being said, the X-Stock based motors are good for high revs, but as they said lack a bit in the torque department(though they are quite capable if geared right). It just comes down to getting it geared JUST right, which very much depends on the size & layout of the track you race at, & in truth, the best source of gearing info for your local track is the local fast guys there. However, if you can give us a good idea of how tight it is(or how flowing it is), how long the straights & overall size, etc., we might at least be able to give you a ratio that could get you in the ballpark.....

hello grizzbob. the track is approx- 40x100 feet. 1 straight away 100 feet. the rest is fairly sharp corners.

Try 6.75 to 6.90.....should get you in the ball park. Hope this helps...

team butter. i am new to this, so you will have to give me a little more info. i pressume these numbers are the final drive or something. i have a 72 tooth spur gear.

Thats correct. the numbers I gave you are final drive. You take the spur divided by the pinion times your internal ratio (transmission gear ration) and that will give you the final drive.

72 / pinion x Internal Ratio (2.50) = Final Drive

So lets say you ran a 72 spur with a 26 pinion...

72 / 26 = 2.769

2.769 X 2.50 = 6.9225 (final Drive)

Therefore you will probably start with a 25 pinion and adjust from there..

2.5 is the internal ratio of the TC4, it is different on other cars.
