It is actually air temp and is just a base to work off. The rubber is affected by the ambient temp, much like shock oil, etc...

General rule of thumb is:

Hotter = harder compound
Cooler = softer compound

No; the B5 uses metric and B4.2 is standard.

I picked up a set of SC Barcodes black. These tires are the BOMB on moist/wet, cool indoor clay. I checked the track surface temp with the temp gun. In the morning it was 44 & before the main it was 55. Running them in mod class and no signs of wear. Last week the track was dry and they just wouldnt work as good as beams. These tires difinately have a place & time where they really shine. If your track is cool & moist, give them a try

Not sure if you've tried the Splitters just yet but if you haven't you might want to give those a shot. I fond they work really well on most tracks, but they really prove their worth when dust builds up and things get a little loose. When the track is perfect and moist with high grip they keep both my cars glued and as it dries out they keep my cars stuck relatively well when others are beginning to slip and slide a bit.

I'd have to compare them to Super Soft and Mega soft DD's when conditions are ideal only add a syringe or 2 of steroids. LOL

I was fully expecting to find those mini little pins to be toast after 1.5 - 2 runs with how abrasive our track tends to be, but to my surprise they held up beautifully after a hard Q2 run and a main where I put in one of my best ever drives and really worked the tires (or so I thought). Usually, as scrubby as my times are, my DD's are done after 3 full runs on race pace and I need new tires. After 2 runs on the splitters they look to have retained about 90% tread which is fantastic in my opinion, especially on my 410, which, if you are familiar with the car, it's pretty heavy and therefore tends to wear out tires aggressively.

Not sure if Splitters are right for your track but they've worked well for me both on indoor clay as well as outdoors on rougher stuff.

Racers that have run these have found the combination of Dirt Webs in the front and Bar Codes in the rear work pretty darn good. If you haven't tried this yet it might be worth a shot.

Dirt webs are such a hot item right now, they are doing everything they can to keep them in stock. Also try pressure points, as I love those tires on the same tracks as dirt webs.
