Default help on o.s. .21 VG(p) and Hyper .21 8 port.

hi,
need to know what motor (out of these two) are good for a starter in 1/8 buggy? i'm going to buy a hyper 7 from a local rc racer and need a good, starting motor. not looking to spend over $160. this car combo will probably only be raced 4-5 times (depending if i like the class or not) because i'll be racing more 1/10 gas truck.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/9018
heres the o.s vg(p). one question, if i buy this motor from them, will it be pull start or no? i'm looking for a non-pull start motor. also, whats a good pipe/manifold combo for this motor? i can pick this up for $146.99 shipped.

lmk whats a good motor for my hyper 7. track is good size with one long stright and one the length of 3/4 of the long stright. (long stright probably 150 ish range. give or take).

thanks!

I've never bought that engine, but according to the the pic by the looks of the back plate I'd say that's a bump start engine. For that price you can't go wrong.

For someone who is new to nitro I would suggest getting the O.S. VG over the Hyper 8-port. The VG has a two needle carb and the 8-port has a three needle carb. It will be easier and less frustrating to learn to tune a motor with a two needle carb.

the Hyper is a bear to tune, the 21 VG has plenty of uumph, and is much easier to tune, due to what SKOT said.
