IMO, go with the STS. It's cheap. I have the 3 port blue head mt12 version. Runs great and is strong.

Whatever happend to those .12 OPS engines?
I thought Horizon was importing them from Italy
Ive heard they have the performance of a nova but cheaper price.
The .21 OPS engines are really sweet

I have an MR12, its wonderful

What kind of a track are going to run at? Most of the current racing engines are very similar in power output, but certain engines are more suitable for tighter tracks and others for huge tracks. There is not much difference, but certain engines could give more of an advantage compared to others under different conditions.

My personal favorite has been Picco engines, modified with a Novarossi slide carb. Easier tuning and MORE power.

I would go with one of these.

-Mugen MT12
-RB X12
-STS

I run a RB X12t 5 port and I love it, but I choose the Mugen over the RB because out here it is easier to find, and second, I hear it holds it tune really well and also that it is easy to tune.

ive had mt-12 and i have now a mr-12 and sirio

the nova engines are great cant really hurt them and tuning is not usually an issue

but my sirio is much faster although it has been modded i feel it is a faster engine regardless

my mr-12 is also modded but the sirio feels faster

i have seen plenty of these sirio engines that were not modded before i got mine and they seem to be very fast engines

my sirio has been very easy to tune just like the nova engines

and the sirio is also cheaper

I've also seen people with sirio's have nicky-nacky tuning problems. They always figure it out by the mains, and they are all really fast on the top end. It just depends on what you prefer. I hardly touch my MR12, and it presently has the most low-to-mid-range power I've seen, but it wouldn't work the best for a big/huge track. If you have a pretty tight track, an MR12 is pretty good.

Also, the Rossi Pixi Black is really fast on the top end as well (like the sirio), but it costs more.

That is what I think; take what you want.

I'vs seen them on eBay for less than $100 for the .12 and .15. I haven't heard much about them on any of the boards either.

How is the Durability on these sirio's? How many gallons are you guys getting out of them. Are they any faster than the nova based engines?

WHat are the thoughts on the Rossi Pixy Black .12?

It costs more than most would want to spend, and if you haven't had a couple of other race engines before, you will almost never get it tuned right. It has a very fine line between being tuned well, and a not-so-good tune. The performance drop off isn't huge, but it is obvious to even the onlookers. With a good tuner, it is as fast as it costs, with an emphasis on the top-end and the low-end (oddly enough).
