Dont bother with the Airtronics 94145. Ive had two this year one used and one brand new and they both started acting very irratic ie. turns one way fine the other sometimes half somtimes full and sometimes not at all. Just may 2 cents on my experience, WILL NEVER BY AIRTRONICS AGAIN!!!!!!

I think Hitec uses some sort of active centering hardware. While other quality servos are constrained to finding the same center point every single time, Hitec gives you MANY different center points. A new one EVERY time the servo moves.

This usually results you removing the servo from your car (while cursing the stupid shop owner who sold it to you) and inserting the servo into the nearest trash bin. Shortly to be followed by purchasing what you should have bought in the first place.

Hitec sucks

Why is that?
Seems odd because the 3650 is digital while the 3550 is analog(which would not work with my HRS)
A few years ago, before battery wars, if you wanted to do a full 8 min with 2000 batts you could not use a digital servo (power management). Most long time 12 scale guys still talk about saving power to finish the race and some wish it would go back to the way it was with just enough battery to make it to the end.

Just to stir up the servo debate...

At the last club race a racer who used to be local came out just to say hi to old friends. Dave G. He had a diggity designs car, and he's always been fast. I took a look at the car because of the interesting design, but what caught my eye was the servo. He was using a Bluebird micro servo that you would normally find in a micro helicopter. The servo sells for $25! He qualified #2 and was leading the A main by a bunch when his battery dumped.

Not bad for a 25 dollar servo

Hey Jim, Thanks for the kind words and it was good to see you again. This is what I was using. http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...93&pid=U389563
Its up to spec with everything else out there and they look really cool because they are in a silver case.

No problem. I was checking out that website, some cool stuff at really good prices. Thanks for the lead.
