Not exactly sure how mine look, probably as bad as the outside of my pipe. I expect that if it was still in place after the hit it would probably have a bow back towards the dent with the way the ice freezes.

Given they are hard to inspect/fix, its a trade off between a potential performance lose due to a bent baffle and the cost of getting a new pipe.

Given that was my first season of racing and i was still running at the back of the pack i was happy to take the performance lose than ask my sponsor (visa) for a new pipe.

My point. It might actually be better to have a dent on the outside , then to demolish the interior baffle.

I guess it depends on the dent. if it is only a minor dent, i probably wouldnt have bothered. In my instance my pipe was bent like a boomerang so weighing up removing the dent compared with damaging the baffle was not hard.

Then again if it is only a minor dent, the presures on the baffles should be fairly equal so i wouldnt expect it to move.

I recently did it. Five times in two days, and the pipe looks chubby ( I guess too much pressure ).
