Jason has a hot setup for the track, so we'll be set there. I just gotta decide what class I'm gonna run, stock and 19t run rubber, whereas mod runs foam... I've never run carpet with rubber before, but wouldn't it be slicker than asphault?

Actually..no... lot of traction with rubber tires. Sorex 23 or 27's work very well. especially with the TQ Orange traction compound.

Have you ever run at SoCal, if so, how would the traction be in comparism?

I thought you all was running foams on carpet...I used take of 27s and they were just fine. I don't like soft tires, it takes away speed for me and I need all the help I can get. I like rubber tires on carpet better than foams.

I'm just the opposite, I actually run softer tires than most, helps me dive the car into the corners while racing, I wish that the stock or 19t class ran foams, my mind would already be made up if that was the case...

From my experience, just like asphalt no 2 carpet tracks are the same. Be prepared to try soft through firm.

Did you use to run sedan at that old slot track in el cajon? The trick there was to use mixed tires- sorex 28 in front and sorex 20 in back. This prevented traction rolling in the corners and gave extra stability on and off power. It wasn't the best conditions for sedan Another carpet track I went to worked great with same compounds (softs) and another track was so bad you could only get one good run out of rubber tires before you had to put on a new set otherwise the car was crap. It's all relative, but you're right- foams would be better

I actually only ran sedan once there in practice, it was just too small for sedans. I was really into 1/12 scale there though, that was a blast!

For stock and 19t it is rubber, for mod it is foams. This is just for the Northwest Champs though.
