Yokomo has a very good car and Tamiya's looks like it will also be very good.
I think that they will all work good for you, but you should keep in mind that you will need parts!!
In most areas of the U.S. the Losi XX-4 and XXX-4 along with the JConcepts BJ4 and BJ4 Worlds seem to be the easiest to find parts for.

ive been told that the 4-wheel buggys dont do very well at the track and they tend to break very easy... They said u get better traction on the track with front wheel drive.
ive been looking for a while for an electric and ive been told over and over again that the Team Losi XXX-CR and the Team Associated B4 are the best ones on the market right now..
If not then lemme know what you think is the best.

-The 4wd buggies do very well at the track, fastest thing off road that is not nitro.
-They do break, but if you think about the fact that these 1/10 4wd buggy turns lap times very similar to 1/8 nitro buggies, and have arms that are half the diameter of those of a 1/8 buggy, of course they arre going to break. It is never the wrecks that you think are going to cause the break, it is the little nicks and glances.
-They are usually too hard to control when you have them powered beyond your driving ability, a slower motor will remedy the control issues.
-I have never heard of a front wheel drive buggy, but the rear wheel drive B4 and XXX CR are about the best 2wd buggy on the market, the X6 is supposed to be very good as well, using parts of the b4 and the losi, IIRC.

4wd electrics do very well because of their traction advantage. Mine is not any weaker than any of my other 1/10 scale electric vehicles. I am running the X-factory X-5 and really like it. It is only fair to point out that this car shares a majority of its parts with the Losi XX-4 so parts are plentiful. The buggy is pretty tough too and very fun to drive.

In 2006 I had
Losi XXX4
Yokomo MR4BX
Predator X10
and settled on what is definately hands down the best car I have ever driven - JConcepts BJ4
My reasons are simple, the XXX4 was a good car but not great, the MR4BX required too much maintenance with the open diffs (like the tamiya) and the predator did not work on aussie tracks.
The BJ is unbelievable, ZERO maintenance for 6 months.... I just rebuilt the diffs for the first time and it works on every track. Turns on a dime, jumps like carl lewis and is faultless.
You cant go wrong.

Where do you race? See what most are racing. Check your LHS to see what parts are stocked.
I bought one of the first ZX-5's in the Houston area (2-2005). Until just recently, I had to be my own stocking dealer. We now have about 5-6 racing every week. The LHS has 2 of most everything now. Much easier!
Do your homework, you will be much happier.
