Boredom strikes again!
I would love to that in the next RC mag I purchase.

Hey guys...for you that run 4wd off-road, what do you think about the new MRC/Academy SB v2 buggy??

Was just going to run 2wd buggy, but might get one of these as well

I knew a guy who ran the original car. The chassis was too short. I think they fixed that with the new car. It is not a bad platform but have not really seen it in the hands of a pro to see what it can really do or how durable the car is. The Kyosho ZX5 is a neat looking car.

The 'older' one my friend ran, had a few bumpsteer issues that were tricky to take care of. He ended up going back to his xx-4 older version. The new one from academy, I'm sure has the stuff taken care of by now

a couple losi guys at the off-road track here, are switching over to it - so I'm assuming they've done some work to handle its issues

might just have to see how the 2wd goes before I get one

Yeah the old car had some serious bump steer. Did they revise the steering rack for the V2?

From my brief conversation I had with Dave G (over at MRC), the new car is leaps and bounds above the old/original SB

GUess that means good stuff

They are inexpensive cars. The issue may be finding parts.

KWHIS-I heard some news about a 4600 mah?
Have you heard anything about them, or ROAR approving them?

Roar will not approve new cells until next year. The Jimmy decided to run any cell that is NiMh this year though due to the problems of last year. GP is making the 4600 I think. Have not heard anything good or bad about the cells yet.

KW--great thread, great batteries.

About the SB V2, being a former Academy driver, the SB V1 had rough track issues, well, I did with it anyways. I have the new SB V2 Pro car and will be running it in the JBRL. Casper is right, local hobby shop support is needed for any car that will be campaigned regularly. I ordered quite a bit of parts from Stormer for the car, and I know MRC can supply them also. The new car is longer, has the front kick up built into the chassis, and the Pro version has all the alloy and graphite you could ever want...sorry didnt mean to hijack the thread. If you have more questions, there is an SB V2 thread on this site.

Keith, see you in Bakersfield. I may need to pick some Slingshot batteries up, just so I can keep up with you fast guys.

...4600-I am definitely fine with the Slingshot EP4200's lol.
I wanted to tell you that the batteries have been holding up great with all the abuse. I am glad the EP cells are working out!
