0-100 mph in 8.7s isnt too bad for a 2.5 4-banger.

not to mention, you don't need a mullet to drive it.

Roger, sorry if I put this in the wrong area, it was placed here because its a continuation of an off topic discussion that the 'nitro on road' group was involved in.

I agree, there are plenty of 4 bangers that pack some serious punch and dont break your wallet at the gas pump. In fact, my favorite car ever was the 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV that I used to own. It was nimble, fairly aggressive off the line and TONS of fun to drive with the 6 speed tranny.

However, for those purists who believe that anything less than 190 db when leaving a red light is just a sin, nothing but american muscle will do.

It's not all about performance comparisons, or number crunching, or high downforce wings attached to the rear of a honda civic...

It's about style and owning a piece of american heritage that has defined our country for the last 50+ years.

You ask why americans have to drive american muscle cars...

I answer with this: "gas grass or @ss... nobody rides for free."

I have often dreamed of taking a 99 Dodge neon and putting a double decker wing on the back. Then mabey a coffee can tail pipe. Of course I will have to affix some $200 ground effects with wood screws, but then run out of money for paint leaving them primer grey. Oh yes, and an aftermarket racing tac so I know when my gerbil powered engine has reached red line. You can find me in my retard car on the streets of America on friday night with my cap turned sideways listening to the newest mass produced cr@p they now call "rap".

the american muscle car is a thing of the past and has been replaced with effeciant high horse power pocket rockets. just think in 15 years these cars will be the "muscle cars".

i drive a 2005 WRX STI
it makes 400whp and 420WTQ on race gas
350 WHP and 380 WTQ on plain ol pump gas.
i get 27mpg and run low 12 sec 1/4 miles as well as destroying corvettes (except the C6 Z06) on the race track(when i say race track i mean road corse)
most muscle cars will make the same or a little more power but there is no way they can keep up with out slicks/tubs.

Talking

give me hemi power any day and i'll be in heaven
there's enough power there without injection and forced induction but what the hell, may as well throw them on anyway

DUDE! If I send you like 500 bucks, will you build me a neon. Mine doesn't have to be as nice as yours though. I already have the screws. But I want like a 10 inch tach with the red light, so I know when to shift that sucker at 3000rpms. I'll pick up my sound system at Wal Mart tonight! I saw subs and a 5000 watt amp for like 35 bucks there. I'm way stoked!

I would take any one of these over a WRX...and I had a WRX in 2002.

I want!!

How do you get 27MPG??? What are you tuning with?? I find it hard to believe...Well I guess 6th gear and stay out of the turbo..maybe.
