So, since the biggest part of this debate I've seen is about SPEED, how about 3 (4) cell classes and 2 (6) cell classes sanctioned to be allowed at "NATIONAL" and REGIONAL" Roar events. For LOCAL racing, as always, it's up to the individual LOCAL program to decide what's best for them.
4 Cell - STOCK
4 Cell - 19t
4 Cell - MOD
6 Cell - Expert 19
6 Cell - Expert Mod
You can NOT cover the field any better than that for speed issues. Require PRE-ENTRY For all major events. The classes w/ NO Pre-Entry by a cut-off date don't get run.
It should not have to be a EITHER/OR situation. If MY track has a 1200 ft HUGE road course track and it can handle 6 cell speeds, it should be able to run them. If YOUR track is only built inside a 20 x 40 box and you don't have a lot of room a 4 cell class may be GReAT. COMPROMISE~

I don't think we'll be seeing 4 cell stock.... It's just painfully slow....

You will see lots of beginner`s "win" stock finally which will help attract fresh blood to the sedan class`s...

I'd be willing to bet I could build a drivable car that Hohwart could take to any massive event and have a shot at putting it in the show, for under $500 including the radio. Part of being very good is also knowing what is the "least" you need to go VERY FAST.
Maybe not at a national event, But I bet with a bit of tuning a very talented driver could club race any one of the available RTR vehicles with some tuning, and put it in the show. The XXXS was Losi's flagship car a few years back, now it's an RTR.

She asked about a couple of things and I answered her honestly.... She also asked about other people's equipment... She wanted to know more about this hobby before her son got into it...
Smart lady if you ask me....

I'm here a LOT, and I didn't even notice Eddie-o's thing until after the election.
Had ballots been collected at the track, WHERE THE RACERS ARE, would have been a good start and would have changed things considerably. To late to change that now though. Although I think for a fair check of the system, perhaps there should be a box you could check that says, "I have no idea who these people are", and did not pick one.
Different debate for a different thread.

ROAR CAN YOU PLEASE LISTEN
The way I see this whole thing is terrible. 1st let me say I still race the 4 cell oval class and yes the cars are still fast not as fast as the 6 cells but fast none the same. Will this be the same for tc don't know but I would still race. I see over and over it's because of Mod or it's Mod drivers in Stock ect. I say come on Roar fix the real problem the ABC Titles we have now. How many nat champs can we have?
I propose the following.
Racers can only enter 2 classes max at a region race.
You must enter a region race in the region you live in.
You must place 1st 2nd or 3rd to be eligible for the Nats
You get a free entry into the Nats to be held only once per year.
ROAR crowns a real champ once a year.
Carpet Ashphalt, Nitro ect.
Any racer who wins at a region race can not race in that class again (except for Mod)
No factory drivers in Stock.
Who cares about speed....I do a local club racer...I would really like to race Brushless/Lipo. Now that would be a class.
It could be 13.5 turn = stock
4300=spec 19
any motor mod.
Just my 2 cents worth but hey I'm the local racer looking to move up!!!

Some of the guys on here ask about what the On Road Committee is thinking...Well it doesn't matter what we think don't control anything. We can suggest what we think is a good idea or will work out better but EXCOMM makes the real decisions.
We were asked about going to 4 cell, but there is no consesus among us right now. I want to personally try it before I give any opinions. At the same time, that is not the change I would make off of the top of my head.
The mod cars are too fast, at least for the average guy. At the same time I watched Pauly Lemieux go wire to wire in 2 different races last weekend without destroying his stuff. He made it look easy, actually.
What we really need is a place for people to get started comfortably. We also need a place for more accomplished racers to move up to. Some may never have the ability or desire to race mod. So an intermediate class is needed. It's not 19t right now since the mod guys race it too. You will never see the top stock guys move up and race 19t only because they still want to be at the top. Just like the limited number who move up to mod, a lot of guys don't want to go through a period of not making the main.
I hope the national point thing gets off the ground as well since currently, when qualifying is over, 11th place is first loser. Maybe if points counted towards something, lower mains would mean something. Maybe it would also be a way to bring the other big races together as well. I don't know, since it will probably never happen.

Just catching up on my reading since lunch time.I also hand a phone conversation explaining there side.I'm just one guy on the on-road committee. Now as an X region director I'm just a racer on this committee. The committee and region directors can only make suggestions the Excomm makes the big decisions.
One thing that goes with this discussion that is not mentioned is the brushless motors. This is the new motor and we are in the transittion stage from brushed to brushless. The Brushless will work better in the newer format with less cells. At least that's the way I see it. Try -yes alot of racers in Mod down here in Florida want to try 4 cell mod. That's what I've been told. I'm a big fan of the 13.5 brushless stock class. If I had some others wanting to try it I'm game.If not I guess we'll try it with 6 cells.
I can tell you my personnel feelings about slowing the cars down and new racers. Pan cars got to be too fast but they were 100% easier to work on- even for a new racer. Now you add The new TC and the speed most drivers can't handle plus they spend a lot of money and don't win- there gone in a very short time. The attention span of the new racers now a days is very short especially if they don't win.
Now if people will sit or stand in line for several days to get the new and improved PS3 for 600.00 and what 50.00 plus for games to play on it.People in turn complain about how expensive our hobby is.Get a game and stay inside all day by yourself or get into this hobby get outdoors met others and race .I hate video games don't play them and don't own any. No matter what is decided I'm still a hard core r/c racer and we are getting smaller every day.We need more new racers coming to the tracks and racing. That's the ultimate question here how to get more racers getting into this hobby and moving up the ranks to modifiied.
