Thanks.
Will any 3s lipo fit in the Esprit 3?

There is a 3000mAh LRP lipo that will fit. It needs some very small mods to the battery box, but is fairly easy and simple to do. The pack isn't listed as the KO one, can't be sure which one it is designed for - think it may be Futaba.

Hi there,
I am considering an upgrade from my KO Esprit II (the original silver one) to an Esprit III. Is there any difference in total response time between the 40MHz system and the 2.4G SS system? Both set to Ultra HSR mode.
I'm asking this, because at the worlds in Thailand some of the best drivers (Masami Hirosaka, Andy Moore, Jilles Groskamp) were still using their radio on 40 or 27 MHz.
Besides, I don't mind fiddling around with crystals. I hardly have to change frequency anyway, as most people use 2.4G nowadays.

I'm interested, because I 'm also buying Esprit III.

I have not decided yet. :P
Although at the moment I'm leaning more towards 40MHz for the following reasons:
- My current transmitter is a KO, so I have a few pairs of crystals. (receiver too)
- I don't like the antenna sticking out of the back.
- Last but not least: 40MHz is proven technology and I yet have to see one of the world class drivers use the 2.4G. If 40 meg is good enough for them...
I realize that there is no such thing as buying the "wrong" option in this case. Both are great sets and that's what makes it so hard to choose.
2.4GHz takes away the worries about free channels. But then again if you have 3 sets of crystals chances on not having a free one are very very low.
I will probably purchase mine in one or two weeks so I will have a good thought about it.

- lower price, about 80€ cheaper than 2.4 GHz here in Slovenia
- fragile antenna by 2.4GHz
- I heard, that some 2.4GHz receiver have heat issue
- the transmitter looks like it is from 80's and so should antenna look too

Chipo,
I have used this for about a year, as I have said before MUCH easier to use .. and with the 2.4 Spectrum and Lipo pack, just about perfect ....
I think, but not 100% sure the heat problem was a Futaba issue.

can someone help? on my esprit III- when i rotate the stick orientation anti-clockwise like40 degree as it suggested it may, and lock the 4 screws tight, it will come loose after a few "brakes", even the steer's side won't lock tight with angle either.
it doesn't feel comfortable when the brake is applied while using it, it was felt "loose" and not solid.
