Here's one for you.

My Hitec 5625 Died during warm-up for my Main on Sunday. The return spring pulled it back (no brakes though) so no run away.
The spring has never been able pull the servo arm back all the way unless the car was running (vibration?).
I replaced it with a JR 8411 servo and the geartrain is so much smoother, that the same spring nows pulls the Arm back easily. (Quality?) I also use a small RB on the carb slide. I use the tiny Black ones used in Hair styling. They seen to hold up to Heat and Fuel better. You can get a bag with a Gazillion of them for a buck at the $0.99 stores.

Since we're talking about Fail safes, I thought this might be a good place to bring up Servo Failures. (if you guys disagree, I'll Delete and start a new thread)

What kind of Servo Failures have you had and how were they handled by the manufacturer? Warranty/Non-Warranty, Repaired/Replaced.

I've has 2 JR Digital 8411's Replaced under warranty $0.00.
The same Hitec Digital 5625 Repaired under warranty once and going back this week again.
How have your experiences been with the same and other brands of Servos?

i bought 6 hitec digital 5925 sevos last year

4 have failed since

luckily my LHS spoils me when they die he trades them for new ones and sends them back

unfortunatly they will be out of warranty after this year

i always keep an extra with me because they dont last

next year futaba digitals will be replacing them

popsracer do you run abs? was it the throttle servo?

i dont think that any of the steering servos have gone bad i use the abs and i think i may want to turn it off and see if the servos last longer

Ive posted this many times before, but again....my 80 or 90 somthin dollar hitec HS945MG is dead. I really like it and plan to send it in for repairs..but It makes me question the reliability of Hitec.

i only run hitec
925mg for steering both nitro and electric
625mg for throdle and non have ever missed a beat
there corless motors and i just cant justify the cost
of digital when the price is so good for these.
also heard gliching can cause digital servo failer

Sometimes my metal gear sevos will cause radio interference...whats up with that?

It's is ALWAYS the throttle servo and I've got plenty of free space in the linkage. I even use a small piece of Fuel tubing in front of the throttle stop collar, just in case. My TX is a Futaba 3PDFM, no ABS.

I did have 1 of the JR's go bad in a steering location (T-Maxx), was a bad pot, and they replaced the entire servo, no charge.

How about Airtronics Servos?

I don't think they come with a warranty and I've heard it's $$$$ to have them repaired.

For me, the Steering servo MUST be a High Speed Digital, no exceptions. The throttle servo, I prefer a Digital for the precise braking they provide. I have run NON-Digitals for the throttle/brake, but I don't like the performance as well.

someone smart recently talked me into using springs on the throttle return side of linkage due to the fact the brakes are pushing against the carb much harder with fuel tubing even possibly causing a slight chassis bend when using brakes

and i am going to try to not use the abs for awhile

i like to use it cause i run a one-way but i think it really takes a toll on the servo

I had that JR 8411 (8550) in my HPI before I sold it (the HPI). At 188oz of torque you should have seen how much the chassis tweaked while setting the end points.

I have a NTC3 RTR it should be here in about 3 days, and i want a failsafe for it. my question is which one will fit the NTC3 RTR????
what about the Venom Failsafe?
Which failsafe do you guys recommend?
Please hurry with your answer because i am going to buy the failsafe tonight!!!

i heard new dynamite ones work good and KO are good also

The hell with failsafes! WHERE WAS MY FAIL SAFE WHEN MY BATTERIES FELL OUT?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Car almost got totaled because of that.
