The Pro kit comes with the 3001 Receiver. The 3500 is not faster, just smaller. I have been running the DSM Pro Series with the 3500 for a while now and I love it. As for size I am not sure, however the 3500 is about 30% smaller than the 3001.

Default Receiver

I do believe the speed/latency has been reduced on the
DSM system for the Futaba HRS system.
basically it will allow the Spektrum to use the HRS mode on the 3pk..
think it goes from the standard 5ms down to 2 (something) ms.

The Pro series latency is down from the standard 5ms to 3ms.
Think the info is on their info on their website www.spektrumrc.com

Added benefit is the system just looks better.

I've been using the spektrum since it was available and haven't had one problem at all.
