What would be better, A KO Propo with a spectrum dsm system, or a JR Z-1?

They are both pretty much identical............I am biased and would suggest the JR of course.

How much is the JR Z-1? My LHS's site says they have an EX-10 with a spectrum system for 450 canadian, but they don't have a price for the JR on the site.

You can buy the KO without a transmitter or servo on the KO website then pick up the Spektrum system. Just about the cheapest way to go without buying used.

The way some people drive, you'd swear that's what radio they're using.

Who makes a drop-down wheel adapter for that model?

The KO Helios and the JR ZR-1 are the exact same radio. The only difference is the JR comes with syth module and receiver. I would go with KO and their 27mhz HRS equipment. The KO receiver is less then half the size of the JR.

If you're going 2.4ghz get the Nomadio React... Don't get an analog controller and then add a 2.4ghz module to it....

I know some guys who use the Z-1. I drove a buddy's car who had it. It felt cheap and uncomfortable. He also had a lot of glitching problems with it.

I don't think that the KO radio would be much different, since the only difference (that I have been told) is the Z-1 is synthesized.

I love my 3PKS with the 2.4 FASST System. It is super fast and if something goes wrong (which happens rarely) Futaba customer support is awesome!

I would get the FUTABA 3PKS with the 2.4 FASST System.

Feels more comfortable (to me at least) and with Futaba support you can't go wrong!

Great choice. Or you can just go with the synthesized version of the 3PK-Super. That's what I have and love it.

according to my LHS's site, the don't have a 3PKS but they have a 3PK. Maybe they'll have one by the time i've saved enough.

The difference between the KO and the JR is the JR is backlit and the KO isn't. Not a huge deal. And the JR is Synthesized and the KO isn't.

Adamliehr, your buddy may have had a bad radio or had his electronics routed wrong or have a blown up ESC or something else.

The KO/JR radio is fast becoming the radio of choice at my local tracks. It's a very comfortable radio to alot of people, regardless of sizeofhands. I have average sized hands and my buddy has gorilla paws and we both find the radio comfortable.

When you are looking at spending money on a radio, don't worry about which radio looks the coolest or which is fastest. You could buy a radio because of it's spec sheet and be impressed and then not have it comfortable in your hands. If it's not comfortable, it's not going to work for you. If at all possible, talk to the LHS in your area, and talk to the guys at the track. Ask to hold some of the radio's and see which one is best for your comfort level. When your spending that much money on a radio, you won'tget a bad radio design.
