Hi all.
Wanting to get peoples views on some of the better 19 turn motors for a large fast flowing ashphalt track..
Im looking at the Reedy 19 and the Klisby Mt fuji motor.
any comments, hints, tips?

Checkpoint money motor, seems to be the motor of choice at the moment but i myself run the reedy 19 quad, i run it 1-2 pinions higher than my competitors as it has a little xtra torque, and is great on large open courses.

Mike,
The Checkpoint motor is simply FLAVOR of the Month.I will say I do like the RPM of some other motor's a lil better.
The Checkpoint is my favorite OFFroad 19 turn.Not onroad.

The Kisbey Motor is a tuned Komado by Trinity.
Kisbey,Putnam,Br00d and others are all great tuners of this motor and a good motor it is.

BS6- is on the right track as well with the Reedy Motor.A lil harder to tune at times but when done right they are down right scary.

The Atlas,Element,Dynasty and others seem to be better for offroad.

The Komado,Cham 2,New Integy,and the Reedy seem to be better for Onroad.

Thanks guys.
i like the sound of the reedy's...they say that the brushes installed are the stock (basic ) brushes..
I have used and love the Reedy modifieds..and yes I think The mods scream...hoping that the 19 does the same....
I will need to gear up..as we run up a slight hill to enter the straight..
they do recommend 767 brushes..but ive found in the past that these arnt too good for stock...i tend to use the trinity or the "f" brush...
am i on the right track?
The Kisbey is a Trinty can?

I run the Checkpoint 19t, has low maintence brushes(infinity) and high power brushes (Atlas), great for practice, no need to cut comms'.

well since yall are talking about brushes i havent even looked at what brushes are out there and what differnce they make i got some "hard" brushes when i got my car (i think thats what they are called ) but do they make much of a differnce?

If your not worried about it being a spec motor, get an Epic 19t Outlaw Those things are FAST!

The motors of choice at our track are the Peak Dynasty and the Komodo Dragon. The KD has huge RPM (well suited for longer straight aways).... the Dynasty has some great low-end grunt.

I'm going to try a Checkpoint with the silver springs to see if it wakes-up - if not, back to the other two I listed.

What FDR are runing on the Reedy? I have one, but is so slow (my stock motors are faster)....... I always end up putting on the KD....

I'd like to also know (fdr) how to gear a Reedy and a Checkpoint on a tight carpet track for touring. Havn't ran them thats why I ask. Next week will be my 1st club race for season.

lots of turns and some tight sections but a good flow at south shore hobby...
i run ~32mm rollout

bvoltz: on foam/carpet and rubber/asphalt is run FDR ~5.14-5.45 depending on how much low end i need for the infield... if its a fast track gear it to the moon as long as the brushes survive 5 minutes...

I've bought a corally 19T spec (381916L Reb. BLACK 19T Single SPEC )

It has strong magnets I've never seen on a 19T before and it moooves I don't know that all of them are like that or I've just got lucky picking up a real good one...

that explains it.. I was way off.... I was in the 6.5 range... Thanks I will give it a try.... we have a race coming up an the run line will be around 1,000 feet with a 200 foot straight-a-way.... Thanks....

let us know how you find the checkpoint... only prob i have with it is that i'd have to stock up on yet another type of brush and spring...already have lots !
