Default Tamiya's sneak preview of the TRF416?
Dressed up as a "TA-05" Porsche 934 commemorative model...



Stretch the wheelbase a little and you have a mid-motor 415.

looks like Xray will have some new designs to copy for thier T2 008

it's a ta05 type-r not a 416 I think tamiya will just continue to evolve the current design.

Like you said, its a TA05 Commerorative model, Tamiya is soon to release this. Its been the buzz on the 05 thread already. Kit #49400, 30 year anniversary car, fully pimped out. Looks sweet!

Be harder to pick than a broken nose between that and the 415. I notice it also has the better steering ackerman on it from the 415 MSX MRE.

it is also a short wheelbase, it is a comemorative chassis, I don't hink it was designed for racing and isn't a replacement for the 415 at all.

Did anyone else spot how the layshaft is extended and supported more on the motor side so that they can remove the battery-side half of the bulkhead - allows the cells to be much closer to the centre of the car

Personally speaking I don't think Tamiya would have gone to the trouble of developing that new centre bulkhead and layshaft assembly for only one car, even if it is a very special model.

So my money is on a longer wheelbase version of this car being released as a TRF416 or similar.

We can only wait and see though...

I believe part of that...I don't believe they spent the R & D on that car for just this Limited release...but I don't think it's the 416, I think it's finally a peak at the TA05r that all the faithful 05 owners have been waiting for!
