ok i have been looking into a B4 because my track was re-done and was smooth. well after 2 nitro races its not the best thing to drive 1/10 2wd on. my question is can i get the CR to have enough steering for the tight turns without having to drill new holes/ buy new parts? i heard the CR had more traction but it is forward traction, is this true? i dont mind having to drift around a corner once and awhile but i like to drive the car, not have the car drive me. i have a 4WD buggy already but im looking for a 2wd for more of a challange. if you happen to have both cars which do you like better?

The answer is yes. You can get plenty of steering out of the CR. Mine already has plenty of steering and does well. I am working on refining the setup more but almost have it where I want it. It just takes alittle time to work the bugs out of a new car.

how stable is the car through rutted 1/10 tracks? what changes did you make to the stock settup?

The car is very stable through the rough and has good forward traction. The biggest things that got rid of the push it has in stock form for me was to use 32.5 weight oil in the rear instead of 27.5 weight the stock setup calls for and to go to a 3-D rear camber link. Using the outer holes in the front VLA really helps improve with the stability of the car even more. Also, using a little drag brake in the ESC helps with the steering too when using a motor with ball bearings. I will post any futher setup changes that help.

Yes, I have raced the B4 too. It is a good buggy too. It needs a few mods to get to its full potential also. The CR is more durable than the B4 in my experience especially when you upgrade to the graphite front arms off the BK2. They are identical to the EA3 arms on the CR just they are made from Losi's graphite. The front arms on the B4 are too weak for my tastes.

I raced a B4 for a couple of years and recently switched to the CR. The CR had a massive push with the stock setup. I moved the rear outer camber link in one hole on the hub and the car came to life. It also handle's badly rutted tracks with ease and seems to be more stable than the B4.

ok well it looks like the CR afterall. what hop-ups are nessecary out of the box?? and what is a good settup for steering?

The only thing I would get for the car is the graphite front arms. Be careful when ordering these because horizon has the incorrect arms listed as an option for the CR. The correct part is the same one used on the BK2. Other than that this kit is full option. The EA3 front arms are just not as durable as the graphite but they are not weak either. The extra flex of the EA3 helps in rough conditions. Do spend your money on quality electronics for it. I would recommend getting an esc than has a drag brake feature to help shift the weight foward off power for increased steering. Novak, Tekin, and LRP offer great escs for racing. They are definately worth the extra money you spend on them.

ill be running aGTX so i think thats a good enough ESC . also what servo do you reccomend? i have a 625Mg ill throw in untill i can get a good servo. im using a XS3 Pro TX and RS310 receiver.

I too have a xxx-cr in the box ready to assemle, with my BK2 I used titanium screws and front and rear aluminium pivot blocks and also rear aluminium carriers, do you think this is money well spent or is the new EA3 material used in these parts strong enough, do you know if the aluminium parts ar interchangable with the xxxbk2 and the xxx-cr and if not is there anyone selling them as yet

those parts are not interchangeable between the bk2 and the cr. The parts are more like the bk1. The rear hub carriers are better on the CR, and dont need to be aluminum.
