Cool Novak GTB and XXX-CR Question

Hi guys,
I've got a GTB brushless system in my XXX-CR but i cant fit the fan under the body, any other bodies around that can accomidate this or should i possibly cut some vent grooves directly above the SC's heatsink?
I currently run ok without the fan, but summer is coming and dont want any shutdowns.

Thanks,
Daniel

Thanks, but this link seems to be dead.

This link works for me. You could try the body off a Bk2. It gives more room for the speed control. Also, the rear of the XXX-CR body has two holes. Make sure you are using the lower set of holes for more clearence.

The original fan on the GTB is a joke, chuck it away and mount one or even two of the black novak or AE fans (they look exactly the same) on the chassis around the ESC. They body will probably fit OK without the original fan on the top. I have seen guys running the GTB in the B4's do this, since they have the same space issue under the shell.

I run a GTB in a T4, plenty of room under there, but when the original fan threw its last blade I mounted one of the black Novak fans (I was advised by Charlie at Novak on this) on the chassis right next to the GTB. All OK so far.

I could be totally wrong here, but it seems to be that a fan directly over the heat sink blowing air down on hot air trying to rise and escape could actually be WORSE than mounting a fan next to the ESC.

Skip the fan. Totally unnecessary on a 2wd buggy. If you need to gear really tall then a vent in the body gets the job done very well. The Bk2 body has a nice vent molded in already.
